As Jesus was facing His darkest moments just before He was arrested by the temple guards, some closest to Him were unaware of what was about to unfold. In spite of Jesus’ words at supper a few hours earlier, and His repeated admonitions to watch and pray, their eyelids fell heavy, and the dark night was beckoning them to sleep. But their lamentable lack of attentiveness paled in comparison to what Judas had been concocting behind the scenes. It may have been that Judas had good intentions in his plan to get Jesus to the “negotiating table” and arranging it without the master’s knowledge, however, in his pride and arrogance, thinking he knew more about what was best, Judas betrayed Jesus, and he did it with a kiss.

Have you ever known someone who tried to do something nice for you, all with the best of intentions, but it created such a big mess you wished they never would have done it at all? After all, Judas was just trying to make things right by balancing the books. His “oversight” of the money bag had become somewhat of a reservoir of supply for his own “special interests“. That thirty pieces of silver would have solved his “deficit problem” after all. And why not, he must have thought, a little “dialog” between Jesus and the Pharisees would only afford Jesus the opportunity to explain His mission more fully. Having ulterior motives in your attempt to do something nice for someone will most certainly always backfire on you.

There is an unfortunate yet real parallel that I stumbled upon in the scriptures between Judas’ betrayal of Jesus, and Obama’s dealings with Israel and the Middle East. I believe these parallels are leading us to the fateful reality that President Barak Obama is unwittingly about to betray Israel into the hands of her enemies.

It all started when I heard another minister present the possibility of a correlation between certain chapters in the Book of Psalms and the years they relate to. For instance, Psalms 48 would correlate with the year 1948, Psalms 49 would correlate with 1949, and so on. When you look at the words written in each Psalm they seem to have some prophetic relevance to events that transpire in the correlating year. In reading Psalms 48 for example it says in verse 8, “As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever.” What’s interesting is that 1948 was the year Israel was “established” as a nation. This is just one verse in that chapter, however, the whole chapter seems to be a proclamation concerning the land of Israel and God’s providential hand in bringing her forth and placing her on display for all nations to see. Some of the following chapters are more ambiguous than others, but there is a real interrelation that should be given some attention in my opinion.

I have been observing this for ten years now as each year would unfold, but it was originally assumed by some that this correlation may have ceased with the completion of Psalms 106 and the year 2006. This is due to the fact that Psalms 106 is the conclusion of the 4th book of the Psalms and Psalms 107 begins the 5th book of the Psalms. Well, as the years 2007 and 2008 came, certain world events caused me to reconsider the fact that this correlation is still in effect after all.

This past December 2008, now former President George W. Bush was in Bagdad holding a news conference alongside Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, when an Iraqi journalist stood up and threw his shoes at President Bush. When I heard of it I immediately grabbed my Bible and flipped it open to Psalms 108 and found verse 9 which says,  “Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe.” Needless to say I was intrigued by this real-time correlation. Could God have known about this seemingly insignificant shoe throwing incident that would take place in the future and encode His word through the psalmist to prophecy about how he would judge the nations who would set themselves against people of Israel in the last days? Absolutely, but there’s much more!

As we continue looking at specific verses keep in mind that David was speaking in Israel’s stead. It helps understand the dialog that takes place when we consider it as if National Israel was speaking as one voice. It goes on to say in Psalms 108:10-11, “Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?  Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off?” This strong city mentioned here is none other than Petra, also known as the silent city of the forgotten past. Those familiar with Bible prophecy know that during the last seven years, also called Daniel’s seventieth week, Jews will be forced by the Antichrist to evacuate Jerusalem in the middle of the seven years and, according to the words of Jesus, “flee into the mountains.” (Matt 24:16 also Rev. 12:6) Petra has long been believed to be the place where the Jews will find refuge during the final 3 1/2 years from the Antichrist. Today, as Israel’s enemies continue breathing words of hatred and plans to eventually eradicate them, Psalms 108:10 relates a foreshadowing of the need to find refuge from their enemies. David’s words were prophetic in nature to Israel’s plight in the last days.

In verse 12 of the same chapter we have a revelation of sorts, in that Israel will finally stand alone, with none to help them. It says,” Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.” The U.S. has been a long time friend and ally to the State of Israel, however, it seems inevitable that our allegiance will be short lived . . . Israel will stand all alone. Because this verse is found in Psalms 108, the correlating year being 2008, I believe it is of great significance. The American people elected a new President in November 2008; one who will lead us down a path away from our long held stance as a Nation in support of and standing with Israel. Soon it will be known that it was back in November 2008 when Israel began its journey down the road to isolationism and began to realize they were on their own in confronting their enemies saying, “vain is the help of man.

The new Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu and Barack Obama are on a head on collision course concerning the two State solution issue and the future of Israel. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has already been extremely vocal in Obama’s policy of being “passionate” about the two State solution and establishing a Palestinian State. Benjamin Netanyahu on the other hand is skeptically opposed to this solution in fear of jeopardizing Israel’s security. It may be that Obama, in his pride and arrogance, thinking he knows more about what is best, will pursue “dialog” with Israel’s enemies thinking that if they would just sit down and talk it over they could work this whole thing out. That’s what Judas did to Jesus, and that’s what Obama is about to do to Israel. And Jesus said “as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren (his Jewish brethren) you have done it unto me.” (Matt.25:40) With recent news of President Obama wanting to meet with Assad in Istanbul, we can only imagine what he will attempt to concoct behind the scenes. Look out Israel, betrayal with a kiss coming right up.

It may seem strange to you that Obama could be Israel’s Judas, but one thing is for sure, the Bible is clear about Israel being on its own in the last days. Only God will be there to preserve Israel. The United States is not mentioned in scripture as coming to Israel’s rescue. Draw from that what you will, but the Bible’s silence of America’s role in end-time events is deafening.

We all know what Judas’ fate was, now I will let you determine if Psalms 109 lays out Obama’s fate. For his sake, I hope not . . .

(Psalms 109:6-15)

6Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.

7When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

8Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

9Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

10Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.

11Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.

12Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.

13Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.

14Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

15Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

The only thing I have to say is no matter who was elected President, these scriptures that you have posted would still be true.
